The Ronin Institute for Independent Scholarship is a voluntary association of independent scholars seeking to advance independent scholarship through open, rigorous, and collaborative inquiry.
By applying for membership, applicants acknowledge and agree to ahdere to the Code of Ethical Conduct as well as to the following:
Scholarly Integrity and Conduct
Members are individually responsible for the integrity of their scholarly work and agree to adhere to standards of professional conduct, including the avoidance of cheating, plagiarism, harassment, mobbing, misuse or embezzlement of research funds, and other forms of academic or professional misconduct.
Collective Governance and Participation
Members agree to contribute, in good faith, to the development of the Institute’s governance instruments and practices. This may include participation in meetings with peers or communicating perspectives, preferences, and suggestions via email or structured feedback mechanisms.
Infrastructure and Institutional Resources
At this stage of development, the Institute does not provide institutional email accounts to members. The Institute is actively working toward establishing such infrastructure as capacity allows.
Voluntary Association
Membership in the Institute is voluntary and does not constitute employment, formal academic affiliation, or representation of the Institute unless explicitly stated.
Disclosure of Affiliations
Members agree to disclose significant affiliations with other academic, research, or scholarly institutions where such affiliations may be relevant to transparency, representation, or potential conflicts of interest.
